Fingers and I are enrolled in a Boot Camp...

...and we're rounding the start of week two. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for a month we're up at dawn's crack (literally... 5:30 am) to bust our chops. We lift weights, run obstacle courses, do sit-ups and push-ups, and try our best to emulate the Gladiators (minus the g-strings and nicknames like Blaze, Nitro, and Diamond...)

This honestly couldn't come at a better time, because the temptation of miniature chocolate bars and individually packaged chips is redonk. On Friday night, three otherwise normal adults and I sat around a bar discussing Halloween treats: those worthy of trade, those needing to be smuggled into secret hiding spots, and those you'd take or leave (or would stuff in the freezer for desperate times...)

Top five favs:

  1. Individually packaged cheesie bags.
  2. Mini Crispy Crunch
  3. Mini Crunchy
  4. Mini Butterfinger
  5. Molasses Halloween candies

Bottom five ew-gross-blech:

  1. Rockets
  2. Twizzlers/Nibs
  3. Individual caramels
  4. Those random foam-jelly candies shaped like tiny hamburgers or fries or vampire teeth
  5. Candy corn

Take 'em or leave 'em:

  1. Mini Kit Kat
  2. Mini Coffee Crisp
  3. Double Bubble
  4. Tootsie Roll
  5. Suckers of any kind...

You?

I'd say take it or leave it or all chocolate bars contained in those peanut-free nestle packages...they're all slightly mediocre. But still, I wouldn't kick them out of...my halloween candy bag ;)

I like your top 5. Very good choices. I love those little molasses halloween kisses- alot of people don't! For my list, I'd replace cheesies with individual reese peanut butter cups.

Rockets are the absolute worst. And mini regular chips. They always hung around in my candy bag til the bitter end.

Excellent choices, Lil' Fingers. Poo and I discussed the merits of Dairy Milk vs. Jersey Milk. I support Dairy.

And pop? Really? Too heavy to lug. Don't give me your pop.

I can't believe you put nibs on your bottom five. My heart is broken.

I don't agree with your lists.

Crunchy is gross.
I don't know what Molasses candies are.
Twizzlers are awesome.
Mini Kit Kat, mini coffee crisp, and mini Twix are defs a five fav.

However, I do agree with your mini crispy crunch being in the five fav, so maybe there is hope for peace on earth.

Hello?! I said that I loved individually wrapped caramels. The chips are always all broken into tiny bits or the bags have already lost their air so nobody wants those. What about raisins? I haven't heard any mention of raisins...

Library Lady said...

I know you said you loved caramels, Poo. This isn't all about YOU, you know, hmmm? You'll note I said I didn't like caramels. Not "Poo doesn't like caramels." Pfft.

Chocolate covered raisins are aces.

And Hurr_ah, it's clear: we were meant to be Halloween candy buddies. Much like Punk and I were meant to be chicken wing buddies, because he likes the fat ones and I like the skinny ones, and he likes the dip and I like the veggies. It's too bad we weren't closer in the years it really mattered...

Rockets and plain potato chips are by far my favorite halloween treats

That has to be Free Samples... Ugh. Too bad they don't give out SPRINKLES for Halloween...

It is true, I do like the fatties and the dip. Girly wrists see you later!

Oh, this makes me feel better because on Saturday night Law and I polished off a (smallish) bag of mini Oh Henry's, and then Law went back to the store and got ANOTHER bad for us to polish off while I tried to convince him that Beetlejuice was a classic movie of our time.

My faves in no particular order (determined wholly by mood):
- Oh Henry
- Reese Peanut Butter Cups
- Molasses candies
- Crispy Crunch
- M&Ms - peanut or otherwise.

Clearly our home will not be peanut free this year.

SS, really? Really? What's to convince? Beetlejuice is a clasic. Any movie with a shrunken head PERIOD can be deemed a classic. Not that I can name a lot of shrunken head-type movies, but still...

Hurr_ah, THESE are molasses candies.

I must also disagree with Library Lady.

Those molasses candies are the grossest things ever.

And I love candy corn and individually wrapped caramels.

Anything chocolate is good.

Who is Violette? I like her.

p.s. that molasses candy picture made me drool!! mmmm...can't wait!

Library Lady said...

I know, right? They are so hard to chew and so yummy, they make you drool when you eat them!

p.s. Violet, do you also like Big Turk and Eat More? Blech.

Gross. Molasses candies are gross. Thank-you for the picture, as it reminded me how GROSS they are.

Indeed we could be trick-or-treat buddies.

Actually I do like Big Turk. Eat More no, although I did like the caramel version all right.
